This chapter is about Albert Einstein. The title of the chapter, "A Truly Beautiful Mind," is a reference to the great scientist Albert Einstein. This chapter is also a short summary of his life. Where they talk about a few of his good points. The chapter also shows that Albert was interested in math and physics and that he was a normal person. But the title, "A Truly Beautiful Mind," might make you wonder how the mind of a scientist can be beautiful. This is because we learn about another part of his life in this lesson. His other side is that he has faith in people. He has also been a peace and nonviolence activist his whole life. So, the title calls him a man with a truly beautiful mind.

A Truly Beautiful Mind Summary in English

Einstein was born in the German city of Ulm on March 14, 1879. He couldn't talk until he was two and a half years old. When he started to talk, he said every word twice. When he was young, one of his friends thought he was boring. His mother also thought he was crazy because his head was so unusually big.

The headmaster of his school thinks he is dumb and useless. But then he showed that they were all wrong. When he was 6, his mother made him learn how to play the violin, which he did very well. When he was 15, his family moved to Munich. But the strict rules of the school made him feel uncomfortable, so he left.

When he is done with school, he is accepted into the University of Zurich. Because the university was a more open-minded place and people there were willing to try new things. He is also more interested in Physics and Math. At college, he met Mileva Maric, who was also there.

She was as smart as she was clever. After that, they got married and had two sons, but their marriage didn't last, and in 1919, they broke up. After he finished school, Albert worked as a technical expert at the Bern patent office. Also, he worked on his idea about relativity in secret while he was there.

The paper he wrote about the special theory of relativity was published. This is what you would expect from the well-known equation E = mc2. In 1915, he also spreads the word about his paper on the General Theory of Relativity. This made the idea of gravity mean something completely different. Also, this theory has made him a well-known person.

During the solar eclipse of 1919, his theory was proven right, which changed the way people think about science. When Nazis took over Germany, he left for the United States. He did this because he didn't want his research and conclusions to be used to hurt people. Also, in 1938, Germany found out how nuclear fission works. He was the first person to warn the President of the United States about the dangers of atomic bombs in a letter.

Also, he was very hurt when the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. Also, he sends a letter to the United Nations asking that a world government be set up. So that this kind of destruction doesn't happen again.

In his last days, he spent most of his time working in politics to promote peace and democracy around the world. The great scientist died at the age of 76 in the year 1955.
