The Bond of Love Summary in English

The Bond of Love is about how the author's wife and her pet bear have a strong emotional connection. The baby bear was saved by the author after an accident, and he gave it to his wife as a gift. After that, they became close to him like he was their child, and the author's wife loves him a lot. We can see that he was fed by his family and helped to grow by them. As Bruno gets older, he gets close to everyone, from the kids to the dogs. He slept in his own bed and spent all day playing with the little ones.

But one day, by accident, he ate poison that was meant to kill rats. Bruno became paralyzed after he ate the poison, but with the right care, they were able to save him. Soon, life went back to normal, but then he drank a gallon of old engine oil that was meant for termites. But it was strange that it didn't bother Bruno. So, Bruno got bigger, but he was still as sweet and playful as ever. When he grew up, they changed his name to "Baba," which in the Hindi language meant "a small boy." As he grew up, he learned a few tricks that made everyone laugh. Still, his size was a problem, and since he was an animal, he was a danger to the kids.

Since he was no longer a good pet, everyone except the wife was ready to send him to a zoo. Even though she didn't agree at first, she had to give in for the safety of everyone. He was ready to go to the Mysore Zoo once he had all of the necessary paperwork. The wife missed him so much that she asked everyone to go to the zoo and check on him. She found out that Baba wasn't eating well and was sad the whole time. So, three months later, she goes to see him herself. Everyone told her that Baba wouldn't know who she was, but he knew her right away, which surprised everyone.

After that, she petted him and took care of him, and they spent a lot of time together. She couldn't leave him, though, so she took him back. After all the paperwork was done, she finally brought him home and made him a special island with a deep dry pit and his things on it. So, she finally found Baba and spent her days petting him and letting him sleep in her lap, showing the true bond of love.
